Dear Desmares Community,

On behalf of the PTO, we would like to welcome everyone back to school!  

PTO stands for Parent-Teacher Organization, consisting of parents and teachers working together to support and enrich all students. We support school staff, students, and assist in efforts to solve school needs through volunteering and funding.

The PTO is made up of several officers: Ariej Dawood - President; Laura McCollum - Vice President; Danielle Schwartz - Treasurer, Kassy George – Corresponding Secretary & Yvonne Patel – Recording Secretary, and not to mention our wonderful school staff and volunteers. 

For the welfare of the child, your PTO works to promote goodwill, encourage interest in educational matters, develop closer cooperation between teachers and parents and provide an opportunity for cultural and recreational benefits.

Our primary objective as a PTO is to provide our school with funds, programs, resources, and services that will enrich and maximize the education of every child and benefit the school. To meet this important objective, we fundraise. Here are a few programs that we sponsor and/or support: Dolphins Social & Farewell Events, School Annual Fall & Spring Book Fairs, Holiday Bazaar, Staff Appreciation Week, Field Day, Assemblies, Author Visits, Classroom Grants, and various other fundraisers throughout the year.
